I'm thinkin its for harvesting hops.

 

How about a device that detasles corn in the seed corn crop.

 

It's the small wheels that are throwing me off

 

That would be my guess as well.

 

Really, the corn detasseler I remember looked a lot like me.

 

Being from corn country I've never seen one.

A corn detasler is a bus full of kids.

 

I think that's what it is though, google image search for "corn detasseler" and there is pics of one that looks similar. Looks like the little wheels actually remove the tassel.

Came out of the Dupont/Pioneer seed plant in Hermiston, OR. When I quoted them I just went dimensions, I didn't have any idea what the heck they were.
