    Hello,
Has anyone heard of working for Six months out of the year as an Owner Operator, then leasing your truck to a company to be used by a company driver? This would be a cyclical arrangement with a company where I could return to my truck. I have another line of work I want to pursue, but I don't want to leave trucking permanently or leave my truck depreciating on the driveway. I understand the basic trade-offs and pitfalls such as an unknown company driver damaging my truck. Has anyone done this, or can give me some advice on how to position a business like this and arrange a fair shake with a company? Thanks for your time and please be respectful in your responses.

You want to be a truck driver? Then be a truck driver. Don't half ### two things, whole ### one.

i have driven company trucks and they get ragged out FAST. your nice O/O speced truck would look like trash after 10 other drives have been in it. if you only want to drive for 6 months, bring truck home park it. least you know it wont get trashed by a company driver who just dont care about the equip.
