Yes, but I think I little bit further and try to imagine where it might fly and what or more important who it might hit...

Not mentioning the situation when your car is rolling and this nice several pounds piece with hard edges and corners flying around you... No, I do not think antenna or power cable would be able to keep it in place in those situations.

(From a possible news: He survived the accident, but was killed by flying CB radio from another car.)
I am just trying to consider it from different angles. :)

I guess you could bolt a strap over it. If you are rear-ended, the radio will want to come towards you, so put it in the middle. If you have a violent roll over it may come free and cause some damage, but I'll bet most of us have loose stuff in our vehicle from time to time that would do the same. A forward collision will cause it to collide with the windshield. I've been to about 100 18 wheeler roll overs. Most drivers are pack rats and stuff flies everywhere during one of these. I don't remember any serious injuries from that happening. Not saying it couldn't.........

That reminds me. How many remember those old 8 track tape boxes we used to haul around? The ones that held about 16 -20 8 track tapes and were about the size of a tool box. I got hit head-on one time, low speed, nobody got hurt, no seat belts in use, both cars totaled. That 8 track tape box came flying out of the back seat when we hit and broke my rear-view mirror off and cracked my windshield! Yes, it would have hurt if I had took that to the back of the head. My point is, in most vehicles there is stuff, at least from time to time, that can become a missile and hurt you. I like my CB on the dash. I'm willing to take the risk of having it there. To each his own.

I sometimes have my CB in my 2013 F150...I put a towel under the radio, then put some of that rubber/cloth stuff you can get from walmart that you line the insides of your kitchen drawers with, the anti-skid stuff to prevent the radio from moving around on the dash. Then I use one of the little bungie cords to hold it down to that little tray thing on the dash Ford F150's have.

I mount my Wilson 5000 magnetic mount up on the roof forward of the cargo light.

I don't ever permanently mount anything.

Do you have a bench seat or do you have bucket seats with a space for a console in between? This is what I did with mine

That's a good way to do it rabbiporkchop, not in a plain view, not "in your face", secured...
No ventilation, but I guess it work for you that way.
I was rear ended today, nothing serious, no damage, just some cosmetics, but item which was sitting unsecured flew from front to the back, just another reminder why I would like to keep stuff secured.

Well, if it work it probably enough although I would prefer radiator face up or side(heat go up). Is that radiator on the left?

Me too! But it might take a while, I am not in a rush.
Opposite side of the gear stick is an option as well, but it is close to passenger's body(leg), so...
