accused of taking turban from Sikh truck driver

thats sad...they should of been charged with a felony... im tired of hearing of people with such prejudice

 

Considering our current state of things, I can see that being a hate crime. If this man is out just supporting himself/family and gets something to do with his religion snatched. Thats a HATE CRIME! Lets see someone snatch a yamaka of a jewish persons head

 

I agree this should be considered a hate crime. All the Sikh's I have spoken to have been nice and considerate.

 

I think this type of activity is really dumb especially since there was a 28 yr old in this matter with two kids (21,22). I wonder if they find it funny if somebody did something against them. What type of lesson is really going to be learned by this judgment. Just like everything else in the Judaical system ... Who knows.
Anything that is done to/or against a person no matter what is done should be treated the same way...no matter how slight the problem.

 

I don't see it as a hate crime, I see it as a idiot thinking it was funny and out to have a little fun in his idiotic ways..... how does that equal hate? Hate usually tends to be in an attack such as verbal or physical.. (and if you ever read any of my post you know I am not racist to Muslims, many of my college instructors were and I consider them friends, I take each person on a personal experience not race or social status)

 

At this age, probably these "boys" considered it simply a "prank", ...but, IMHO, this type of behavior can, and will, lead to more criminal activity against people "not of my background/race/sex".

While not yet a "hate" crime, they should be sentenced to take court-monitored classes, pertaining to cultural issues.

Three blacks in Las Vegas took hostage, at gun point, a young 20ish white kid, standing out side of his house. Walk him into the house were 2 other young white guys were.

At gun point the blacks duct tape all 3 of these young guys, laying them out face down, on the floor. Ran-sack their house, stealing $250.00 and a playstation.

As the blacks stand there looking down on the helpless white kids, they shoot the white kids in the head one by one killing all of them.

Now this is a hate crime worth noteing!

Well alot of trouble with society today, is they think that because some are bad people, that everyone in that same race is bad. That is so untrue, all should not have to be critisized for the actions of some!!! things like this make me feel sad!!! That reminds me of something I saw today, at the store, a woman came in and she had the black dress and head gear on with only her eyes showing, I said to myself, you are not oppresed in this counry,and you do not need to hide yourself? But then I thought, well that is your right, if you want to cover up like that, who am I to say its wrong or right!!!!?? I think I jsut felt bad, that she felt the need to do that here. But what buisiness is it of mine!

Any crime that's based on race/ethnicity, skin color, religion or sexual orientation, that could not be perpetrated against a member of another group, is automatically a hate crime. Stealing the Sikh's turban is a hate crime because Sikhs wear turbans for religious reasons. Stealing my ball cap is just theft. Spray paint WHITEY on my house and it's a hate crime. Paint the N word on my house and it's just vandalism. Either way I'm going to be a little put out.

BTW, Sikhs aren't Muslims. I'd compare them to the Amish in terms of work received for pay given and general attitude. Good people.
