The new bright idea MDOT is experimenting with is circle jerks.

At least our speed limit isn't 55 mph

THE TRAFFIC CIRCLE WORKS WELL IF IT IS LARGE ENOUGH. MOST I'VE RUN ACROSS AREN'T LARGE ENOUGH AND THEREFORE AS CONGESTIVE AS A REGULAR INTERSECTION.

Get into the left lane to avoid cutting traffic off.
    Merge into traffic circle.
Get out of the inside so you don't run over said traffic circle.
Argh! Outside is a turning lane and you want to go straight. Time to get out.:biggrin_25523:

You guys are all wrong, anything south of Bay City is still Ohio, and don't get me going about that place. I haven't figured out yet if it's the air, the water, or all the above.:biggrin_25522:

That's right. We have that problem near my house out on Pulaski Hwy a.k.a. US-40. It has a jersey wall running down the middle of it, so the "michigan left" becomes necessary.

I believe the idea there was to eliminate the rearend and headon collisions. After all, people don't drive too kosher in New Joysee.

When I just started driving, I heard a driver on the radio say it best.
"If the road starts getting smooth [in Michigan], wake up and get your truck out of the ditch."
