    Hi,
I am new contractor and just hired a new driver who used to work for another company, but was dissapointed. I've tried to sign him up to the carrier i'm leased to, but unsuccessfully, because he was declined by cargo insurance due to less then 2 years experience required by them. I've tried to couple of different motor carriers and they all says the same. The driver is good, he is a friend and has clean record and driving license since February this year. How can i have him insured?
    Thanks!

This is 53ft dry van driving nationwide. I can't have my own cargo insurance because I'm leased to somebody's motor carrier.

Nothing you can do. You can't have your own insurance as long as your leased on. Running under their authority.

Get your own authority and insurance.

If your have satellite radio. Landline now talks about insurance at least once a month. I think on wednesdays.

The mega carriersthat hire entry level drivers get around this by being self insured. Not s lot of options for you.

    RustyBolt Thanks this.
