On my old B model I would change the frame mounted filter when it pulled about 8 inches vacuum. Since a C15 6NZ pumps so much more fuel and returns much more with a completely different type of pump.
So I am wondering how much fuel restriction, do you guys with C15 pull on a fuel restriction gauge before you change the fuel/water separator filter?

I never see any restriction on that gauge. I clean the screen in my primary every time I change the oil and toss/replace the secondary then too - at or a little before every 12,000 miles.
mtoo Thanks this. -
81 views on this post. Your the only answer RC. I wasn't sure they still used the screen when they built the 6NZ. Not much old school Cat info on this forum any more. A few years ago there was more Cat info than on here than one could digest.
Cottonmouth85 Thanks this. -
Yeah I know it went down hill in a big kind of way a few years ago when they banned tuning talk.
Weekend's can be slow maybe by Monday afternoon you might get some more comments. And there's still some good mechanics posting helpful general info in here from time to time also.
Mine is MBN in an 03 truck. Some people have told me that screen filter was old school and you don't really see them on trucks as new as mine.KB3MMX and Cottonmouth85 Thank this. -
screen filter maybe old school but one of the best IMO. I use a carquest hydro filter with 10 micron. only pull about a 4 on my restriction gauge when on a hard pull.BoxCarKidd and mtoo Thank this.

I hardly ever see any restriction on my fuel gauge, I replace all my filters at oil change, 8k to 10k miles.
which filters do you use?
I'm currently running Cats for the first time and so far so good 256-8753 on the frame and 1R0749 on fuel block.
I had to go to Pete dealer and since I was there picked up two more sets and my sales guy told me never to use two Cats at the same time and suggested FS1212, so I got one to try next.
I don't see any more restriction than before Cats, actually less than ever before, but to be honest I have replaced the entire fuel delivery system and bored the new fuel block except the return, all new fittings are bored too, with all bigger lines, so waiting to see when I replace the fuel water sep with FS1212 if there is even more flow thru. -
749 cat on the fuel block and 33339 carquest on frame.

Re reading your question I never gave you a good answer.
I see any where from 2 to 3, 3.5, but unless I get any trash at the pump, it stays pretty much the same when they get replaced.
