Hi, i have a 07 9400i with a cummins engine. I have a problem, I'm loosing air in the secondary tank but only when the truck is running. If i shut the truck off as soon as the dryer kicks, my air will stay at 120psi for a while. I just replace the air dryer. the compressor and the governor are 11 month old. Any idea? please help.

    Thanks.

I have a Mercedes do that. It was an air line that went to the turbo brake, when you shut off the truck it didn't leak at all.
I know a Cummins doesn't have an exhaust brake, but could be something that is operated by air. I had to crawl around the engine with it running to hear where it was coming from.

Does it have the air operated turbo actuator?

The line would be steel braided,so it won't look like a regular air line.
With the key on motor off, wait for the fuel pump to cut off. Then listen for air leaks.
If you have the air operated actuator, the control box is under the power steering pump. Spray the box and line coming off the top, follow it over the top of the motor.

I could not wait. I saw the line but there is no leak. i built pressure to 120 psi and shut the truck off then put the key on and did not loose pressure.

With the motor running, sitting still vary your rpm like your going down the road, see if you loose air,if not it's probably a leveling valve or air bag.
