I'm in the same boat, I don't weigh everything I kinda have a knack for getting things to scale out usually by looking at them and loading it where I think best. But I still like to verify. I load it like a 450 Deere it seems to be about the same. But we have 3 450's and there's 4000 pounds difference between the lightest and heaviest.

how do you like those 450's? the ones I have hauled always seamed jumpy at the controls compared to cat.

I like them fine, but I'm used to them. We only have a couple of Cats we're mostly Deere/Hitachi with a few Komatsu's thrown in. But we're starting to gets some of the newer Cats, we also bought a new 305 Volvo this year which the guys seem to like. For a 30 metric ton class machine it's pretty wide, when the undercarriage gets worn it'll need outriggers. The 349 does seem pretty smooth but it's new and the 450's are pretty old.

Yesterday was kinda busy for me, I went back and picked up the telehandler that I delivered on Saturday and took it back to the rental place. Then I went to the CAT rental and picked up a 323 excavator and delivered that to a gravel pit (forgot to get a pic of that one). While at the pit I had to pick up our crane and bring it back to the yard. First time moving a crane for me. Those things have nothing to really tie down to. And then I had to get a shock mounting bracket fixed and load a dozer for tomorrow. Did it all in 9 hours and drove less than 100 miles for the day. Don't know if I will get to deliver the dozer tomorrow, it all depends on what the snow does tonight. I do love me a 9' wide trailer though. Other drivers do not like this trailer because the neck can be difficult to deal with but I have it down now. Had to move a 270 Saturday with the 8.5' trailer and man what a pain to get on there like I wanted it. That extra 6" of width is a big deal.
