Thank you guys for the wise advice.i think the best idea is what cat sdp suggested just add more track:less drilling and more travel and no need to remove the fifth wheel.as far as weight problem im only gonna be hauling around 25klbs when the fifth wheel is slid all the way back.i got the drilling part down from working on my old step just need bigger bits.thanks again guys

It's the same amount of drilling to add another section of track. 2 holes on each side. however, by adding track you won't have to move it it back, and it allows you the option of sliding it all the way forward again if you need to in the future.
-
The existing track is little over 4ft with 8 bolts on each side plus 4 holding the cross member,i figured with adding to feet maybe all i need is 3 holes on each side
-
Ya for two feet better put three in. Forgot you wanted to add that much. What I meant by the same drilling is, if you slide the whole unit back, you will use some of the existing holes. You only drill new ones on the back part, same as if you add new track.

get the storage boxes that you can mount under the trailer
-
You will have cut off rear stops on 5th wheel slide plate on truck now and add stops on sec. you add on rear.
-
I forgot about those stops. Zinita, how much do you trust your welding skills?
-
I like things the hard way
-
The stops are also bolted on,the last time i did some welding i had a hell of a night from my eyes burning, never again.

It states on the decals they stick on the frame.
"Never drill or weld to frame unless certified"
