Only trick, for them, they want an excellent MVR and they want you to have Hazmat before you come.
Maybe I can get my hazmat and they will make an exception the the MVR.

I haven't seen any company do that. Is it a company rule I have seen everywhere or a law that if you have had a wreck within a year of application they will not hire you. It sounds like a company thing but seems all the companies have adopted it, even most of the bottom feeders.

    U said
Teaming is tough u heard,do u plan on teaming or are you talking about training?if training you're going to find that with every company, there's no getting around it.trucking is far from easy and can mentally and physically drain you.starter companies are pretty much alike in one way or another.you're thinken about going to PTL I say go for it.they're probably one of the better ones pertaining to driver reviews.

Don't wait too long trying to compare them all. That's the mistake I made. 4 months out of CDL school and I still haven't started. I guess I am holding out for that company that doesn't team train you for 7 weeks. Most of the megas do this except Schneider I think. I tried looking for smaller companies in the NW but they are pretty much non-existing for recent grads up here.

Megas have different training pay. Some companies make you park your truck at terminal if you live 50/100 miles from terminal. Some megas have automatics or sticks. Training time varies from 11 days to 6 weeks.

Hi new member here, I'm starting Swift Academy at the beginning of December. I had an accident last month. It was my fault. I told the recruiter about it and she said that it's not a deal breaker. That's the only accident that I had. I hope when I get my CDL it doesn't affect my hiring. I appreciate any response.

Schneider takes recent grads on up. The family dollar account based in Kentucky is dedicated. Usually a very high sign on bonus. It's all hand unload so very physical, but it keeps you in great shape. Pay was around $1000 a week and $7000 sign-on

$7,000 sign on bonus is kind of a good clue about what other drivers think of the family dollar account.

Sorry guys yes I work for kc transportation. Training is 6 weeks and all our trainers have been driving 5 yrs or more. We have all freightliner 10 speed trucks governed at 65. You normally stay out 2 weeks then home never stay out longer. I live in Princeton so I'm home almost every weekend because I run motors and transmissions for Toyota from buffalo west Virginia I get paid 719 miles times 5 days and I'm just finishing my 1 st year as a driver. I drove 147000 miles last year. I agree 6 weeks training sucks and teaming but it's better to do with a veteren driver than a driver with less seat time. I also have 2 daughter that will be 14 and 15 and it sucked but I got through it because I didn't want to go back to a homeless shelter with them. We moved from phoenix to Indiana with clothes and a year later I've put 14k dollars in furniture in my house all new and paid for. Being away sucks but I have Skype and I talk to then everyday. As far as mvr I'm not sure but hazmat u can get after u get here. We haul all automotive so I'm not sure why we need hazmat
