Hey Boston, would Werner give me a dedicated account right out of training do you think?

 

I know someone who got on Best Buy dedicated right out of school.

 

Werner will put any living, breathing soul on a dedicated account! The turnover rate is so high on all those $ accounts they do not care. I went straight to the $ account as a Surge driver with Werner, straight from school. I ran out of Connecticut on the Dollar Tree, this was 6-7 months ago, and I can tell you I didn't see one pup trailer on the whole dang lot. After my run up there they sent me to the Dollar General out of Marion, Indiana. I can tell you from my experience the pay is no where near what it should be, too much headache and back breaking work and not enough pay. I now run a local gig delivering beer, I love it. Home every night, off on the weekends and the pay isn't too terrible could always be more but it's not bad. Good luck to who ever decides to try these so called dedicated accounts with these mega companies. Their definition of weekends home means for your reset then its back out, and 4 days home time will probably be your max but you'll have to spend 4-5 weeks out to get it, then if you work for Werner you will probably get jerked around when you put your request in.

Not sure what you are asking, my comment simply stated if you wanted max home time you would have to be out that long, at least that's how it was for the surge drivers 6 months ago when I was there. I do know the weekends off for my trainer who ran dollar general dedicated out Mississippi was usually just off for a reset then back at it. You are right though, you can make decent $ on the Connecticut dollar tree, just not worth the time sacrifice for a family man.

 

Not to mention running that dollar tree account in the winter time, found myself up that way in February, my lord was it cold. Way too cold to be in the back of that trailer at zero dark thirty when it's still blistering cold. I had icicles hanging from my beard.
