Follow up on the post about Henderson. Their new trucks are set up right with refrigerator, satellite tv hookup, xm radio, seats that heat and cool, Apu.
Any OTR training companies that allow a big dog/pitbull??

thanks Chinatown! It'd be great. Only if we had 6 months of experience; we're only at 4. Thanks though.

That's odd; they have their own CDL school in Illinois.
Maybe they told you 6 mos. because you didn't go through their school.
Anyway, best wishes.Zz.Wagner Thanks this. -
Not wanting to read through all the post, however Jim Palmer Trucking allows all dogs. No breed restrictions or anything.

This is a rather sore spot with us as well... Recruiter for the company I was with told me all about their pet policy and deposit... But I didn't learn of the 25# limitation until in orientation. During orientation they trainer said they do allow exceptions too... But once completed with almost 3 months of training then I heard, oh, he's too big for an exception... Ya, wonderful... We will need to get this addressed prior to the wife coming on board as a Team Couple as the dog will be coming with us. But I am sure something will work out.
I think/know he would love just sitting/laying by my seat while I drive or jump up in the bed to lounge with one while the other is driving.
Stay Safe,

As opposed to us being in the little bitty prison cell 23 hours a day? ... LOL
Our dog just lounges around in the house all day without anyone around... I am fairly comfortable thinking he would actually prefer the truck with me/us versus being home alone all day.
But I understand and respect your view too.Drphil86 Thanks this. -
Two more months, then look again at Henderson and some others that have APU's.Last edited: Nov 16, 2015

Henderson trucking in Caseyville, IL, they have driving school 3 weeks and 6 weeks with trainer.
Cost around $300 I believe to have pet. I saw guy with a 200 lb beast last week.
Henderson has APU's in new trucks that lease people get but even for lease people you may get non APU 2015 truck while waiting for 2016. Espar bunk heaters are in 2015 trucks, Henderson lets company idle at various temps such as below 20 and above 65. Lease can idle as much as want.Last edited: Nov 16, 2015

What's the difference between your pup lying around 23 hours a day at home - alone - or being with its pack leader/beloved human? It's a no-brainer.Lawdog71, MidWest_MacDaddy and Zz.Wagner Thank this.
