    Looks almost like a Geotab GPS device (plugs into port, tracks some ECM parameters, GPS location info, etc, and sends to company via integrated cellular connection). Any blinkenlights on the end opposite the plug?

    It's just a typewriter.
    I've even used one before - even the electric variety, too! Mind blown, right? :p

    GeoTab uses all 16 pins on the OBD-II port. The plug pictured in the OP only has two pins.
