I only average around 80,000 miles a year and never leave the state of south dakota, I'm not to concerned about remaining epa compliant.

Did you ever swap out the engines after all? I still haven't been able to find the wiring harness's to go from Series 60 to DD15.

Never did the engine swap. Sold the truck with that boat anchor of a Mercedes & bought one with a 6NZ cat.

Was Mawk Industries the only company you found, that built wiring harness's? I tried calling them, but they're out for a week. need to get a ball park figure of cost's before I jump. I need to go from a 12.7 series 60 to DD15 just to be compliant.

Man I hope you realize that's a huge ordeal of a transplant your thinking about.
It's no wonder you can't seem to find a harness, I wouldn't be a bit Suprized if no one's even done one before

Our Mechanic gave us the speech, he stated it would take him a month to put one together, I think it would just be easier to find one made, and installation can go quicker. EPA doesn't like old trucks, its going to have to deal with this old truck.

Is this some kind of specialty truck? Is upgrading to a newer compliant truck an option, it might be cheaper in the long run. I'm not trying to be rude, just asking?

I have a friend that blew the 450 Mercedes in his Sterling a while back. He said he was told a S60 Detroit would swap right in, plug and play.

I mentioned this to my Detroit technician at my dealer. His response was "tell your buddy he's in for a world of hurt."

I now see that truck listed for sale in the truck paper and the add says.....needs Mercedes engine. LOL.

    granhawler Thanks this.
