I just came back from a lightly snowy interview and eval with a local LTL in Aurora. The eval was fine, but I slipped getting out of the truck. I whanged my shin pretty good trying not to fall backward. I was using the three-point technique, but I stepped before my left hand was on the door and I missed the step. Of course this happened right in front of the evaluator.

    Smooth.

I played it off, but I think it killed me for getting the job since they didn't ask me to go take a drug test.

What kinds of irrecoverably embarrassing things have you done during evals or interviews? Did you still get the job or did it stop your chances?

what did they tell u before you left? they might be taking interviews and evals for a couple days then decide.I wouldn't think this tarnished your chances.sounds like u had one nasty fall.hope you're doing better.

Ouch. Nuthin like that. If they use that as an excuse to not hire a qualified driver , you are probably better off.

They'll obviously cut and run at the least bump. Probably leave you hung out to dry , too.

I was speeding on my road test guy said " you know the speed limit is 55 not 65?" I thought I was done but still working for them.

We went back in the building and talked for another five minutes and they basically said 'have a nice weekend.' So, I don't know if I'm going to hear back of if that was it. I did pretty good not cussing, though. :)

How long was the interview in total? The interviewer pretty much made their decision on you within the first few minutes(not you personally i mean in general) so when the interview (the face to face talking portion of it) lasts an hour or longer youre pretty much hired. If it was 10-15 or 20 mins it usually means they passed on you.

things happen beyond your control.if that would be the reason they didn't hire you that's a stupid reason.employers pass on many good workers if they're not perfect.the littlest mistake can cost one that possible job.I have an interview Mon with this armour company you see that goes to banks and businesses picking up their money.talk about a lot you have to go thru for a whopping $10.40 an hr.this baking company is looking for packers.that's more my line of work.I've always liked factory work .they're located in lemars, iowa which is 26 miles but they have a shuttle van so I really like that especially now that we got hammered with snow 6 inches today.
