LOL .....wow......talk about reaching. Actually, since the advent of the A bomb brought about mutually assured destruction one could argue that it was a good thing. You guys are hilarious. Don't be afraid of science, technology, or progress. Especially since you go through your day constantly using it.

Haven't we all been testing this for awhile now? If only Swift and Prime would release their corporate MPG...

The article mentions 100 feet or less. Can you see mirrors from 100?

I saw this in action about 6 - 7 weeks ago in Utah. Had 3 trucks go around my 62mph Prime truck, clocked them at 75mph on the Meritor display.
They were slipstreaming and at the time all I could think was these crazy F****** were going to kill themselves. I am hardly ever out that way and did not recognize the company but from memory I am thinking it was an Idaho company.
Wish I had dash cam footage of when they went by me, it was well synchronized.

From 100' you probably can but that has nothing to do with anything as far as this test goes as the trucks are linked by computer and not drivers.

That's what I'm thinking as well, any closer than 100 is where you can't see mirrors anymore.

This thread could use some photos

So what happens when a car squeezes into that 30'-100' gap? You know its going to happen all the time. What happens when it rains and the lead truck kicks dirt and crap all over the rear truck's sensors? Yeah it sounds good in theory (like DPF/EGR for example) but I am skeptical that it'll translate reliably into the real world.
