I'm getting bored with sitting around...I'm considering buying a truck and going owner op....Is 1.45 per mile a good rate, with insurance and plates paid...It says nothing about fuel cards......
What should I be looking for?

Nothing is a good rate for an o/o anymore.
-
That's helpful
-
Helpful but not very? LOL It's no doubt true though Should I be looking for more in these times?
-
So now you have to pay to be an o/o?
-
depends, if that's shorter loads doing Northeast regional that rate sucks
If it's dedicated coast to coast loads then that rate is okay. -
It depends on a lot of factors really. way to many to list. start with costs. truck payment, plates, fuel etc. it is a hard question to answer. two guys with the exact same truck on the exact same route will have different costs. look up starting a small business and that can help you with the planning way more then trying to figure it out here
-
Well it does sound like a challenge
-
Your biggest cost today if fuel. Fuel will cost you close to 2 times per hour what your pay rate should be.

Whoa! That sucks....Maybe I'll just drive company and let them pay the billsWerner Thanks this.
