Absolutely is Haz-Mat, weight doesn't mean squat! Tanks are based on quantity only, anything over; 100 Imperial gallons = 450 liters = 120 US gallons. Actually I believe most US guide books use 100 US gallons.

Ayup, your right, don't know what I was thinking! My bad
-
A bulk container (over 119 gallon capacity for liquid) needs to be placarded if it contains hazmat residue.
-
I'll take your word for it, but that seems pretty illogical. But the government is illogical.
-
So how do we run with full 125 gallon diesel tanks and no hazmat placards?
-
It's a gray area, but ALL truck fuel tanks manufactured since 1998 have a placard on the inside of the tank to be compliant.Last edited: Nov 29, 2015

If it was a new tank you could move it without hazmat. However, now that it's been used it must be placard.
