I have ran into a few ex-O/Os for gulick and what they say is basically what demon_guitarist's post said
And from what I'm told they are closer to 99% all O/O so if you spot a good looking rig with their name on the door then it's an O/O. Trailers belong to Gulick and that's why they look like trash.
Good luck if you're considering them
Gulick anybody ever worked there

their safesys record for driver fatigue is around a 70 and flagged by dot and pulled into every scale and seldom get a green to pass...their out of service for driver log violations and bad equip,on safersys is higher than average if you lease a tractor exspect a payment close to 2k every 2 weeks...dispatchers are morons,,load planners are experienced in the business but they dont dispatch..wrong po numbers, no contact numbers wrong pickup dates and delivery times they never return calls...and at 330 friday the office is a ghost trap,,no help on the weekends at all,,,and if you down on the weekends bring a lunch...good luck,,,,ask and it shall be given...ive found no good in gulick at all..lies, promises and maybes is all your going to get,,3 others and myself turned the volvos back in and moved on
Fatratt63 Thanks this. -
Just left them. My experience was not good to say the least. All dispatch is out and back to the nw, money is based on the round so if the outgoing load pays $2.06 a mile it's ok to get $1.12 a mile back,so $1.59 is what they are working for. I averaged between 8k and 12 k miles a week and per their pay statement my gross profit before tax was 35.5 cents a mile. Hell company driver's make better than that most places. If you choose to lump your own load for the fee or pick up a bonus for doing something right for a broker the take 20% of that too. They also cooked the books on my last settlement to show that I drew all profit as card advances to the penny, funny thing is they did the same to my brother to the penny.
For my two cents they have a business model that maximizes what the can get from you, not helping you be successfull.
There are better lease opportunity's out there with more money going to the driver. -
d o g Thanks this.

One of thier drivers hit my truck pulling out of a stall a couple years ago. He was 82 yrs old. I have no idea why an 82 yo is still driving big trucks. The dude should be taking a nap and sitting on his porch at that age.
