The driver wanted to know if he could make 80k a year there. I think I did a good job in telling him no. And Chris chimed in with vague statements "experienced drivers have potential to make good money" and "as new driver its tough until you figure out where your going". This reads like recruiting psychobabble gibberish from someone seating in a cubicle in Green Bay .

Or the other response wad once a new driver learns clock management in conjunction while ops out of that facility they can in fact make good money. 80 k? No cuz it only advertised UP TO 72k. I expect that figure includes max bonus every quarter.
That still doesnt make the statement false. -
Thanks again for the responses & discussion - helpful as I think through my options. I should probably point out here that my original post wasn't asking whether I could make $80k. I said that while Schneider advertises Wintersville account as "up to $80k", I was told that most drivers are averaging between $60-70k - and I wanted to know whether that number is reasonable. Keep in mind also that Schneider doesn't advertise the same pay for all their Walmart locations - Wintersville, Bedford, Gordonsville, etc. all show different rates.

Sometimes at schneiderjobs.com wintersville will be advertise with a sign on bonus. I've seen it as high as $7500. I got one for $5000 for six month commitment. They can remove bonus two days after you get it offered to you and other people don't get it but will find out about it when they are talking to you in orientation. Sad but true. Also, your location, age range, amount of trucking experience would help others give more specific information. Example: If you live in Wintersville, your wife is in a job that pays well, you like to sleep during the day, then you might like to try something like this to get your feet wet in the industry

I left this account/location in February of 2010. Brent left in 2009. He was my DBL. I got along with him great. He gave me an assigned truck 3rd day there.
The trucks were not great, but useful. They may have used zip ties to thread together a crack in a plastic bumper. As much room as most Walmarts have there is no reason the trucks should have been beat up so badly. A few tight back hauls maybe.
At the time most guys were experienced.
Pay was low back then. It has certainly come way up. I didn't get rich by any means but I really liked this account. Very easy.
I would suggest to the OP to listen to advice from a recent driver on that account. 6-7 year old info is useless. -
Can you take your break at this place if you're pulling a trailer? I have once, but I was bobtail. I know there is a small fuel stop up the road but it would be nice to park here for a shower if I had to.

You can, just tell the front gate you are stopping into to get your truck worked on at the shop.
91B20H8 and milehunter43 Thank this. -
What's with the Schneider fanboyism in this thread? It's obvious that no one will ever make 80,000 a year on that account unless they work 400 days per year. MAYBE 65,000 to 70,000 if you work 6 days a week, that's a generous estimate

And thats what a current account driver told him. Gave accurate info without exaggrating the good or badLast edited: Dec 12, 2015
