Got ####. My 96 volvo hasn't had that many problems in the last 6 months

 

Up on Lost Trail. Waiting for @double yellow to show up.

 

Doesn't bother me or the owner other than the 2nd dpf problem. Just trucking I guess? He has spent more on this truck in the last 6 months than I paid for my 2001 international including a rebuilt trans and clutch. Lol

 

Hell, I think he likes to disappear just to see who cares enough to ask about him. Lol

Just as a data point for folks.

The "reman" DPF was list $845.69 net $789.06 core charge $2156.25

Evidently this is something shops are taking advantage of. Swap and roll. You get a well cleaned and tested unit to remove and replace rather than sit on the truck over night/all day to get a descent bake on the plugged unit.

 

All that money pissed away on some stupid restriction in the exhaust that shouldn't even be there.

 

I wonder what would happen if you knocked the inside out with a piece of pipe like we did with catalytic converters in the 80s.

 

that's how I have it on my 08 Dodge 3500. works awesome and looks stock. Just have to make sure you have tuning to go along with it of course

 

I bet it doesn't look stock when you gouge on it and that big cloud of black smoke billows
