I'm currently hauling furniture, but have decided to make the jump to car hauling. I'm looking at getting a single axle tractor for my power unit. I live in MN, so I'm looking to run the Mid-west down to TX...but open to run other regions if the momey is right.

I've read many of the posts here, but you can never have too much info. Especially, seeking info and advice on getting my own AUthority, and the process of getting started once I have all of my own equipment.

    Thanks

If it were me I would buy a 3 axle tractor instead of a 2 axle. It would offer more options should you decide to purchase an 8/9 car trailer or decide to haul other type of freight. Do you have an idea of what type or brand of trailer you want to purchase?

I still may get a 3 axle w/sleeper, but considering cost.... not sure on the trailer Yet.

If you are planning to use Central for loads I would keep hauling furniture.

On a 3 axle tractor you will need to have the 5th wheel set over the rear axle or further back. Mn has been tough on high mounts no overhang front or back over 53 feet.

MN now!? This is getting really annoying. Are they just enforcing at weigh stations or have they been pulling people over?
