I find it hard to believe trash ever really paid anything worth squat anyways. I remember I used to see the trash trucks on 80 in PA 10 to 15 years ago. They all looked like beat up junkers just like the trucks pulling cans out of the ports for nothing.

If any idiot can do it, a lot of idiots will; and it'll pay as such.
bigguns and rollin coal Thank this. -
Out of nyc and Jersey it never paid good. But in other places not so bad.I know a few guys down here running it under contract for about a buck fifty round trip(well it was that a year ago, quite possible it's dropped with everything else) using company walking floor trailers. Considering how cheap people are willing to work down here hauling sod, brick, and oranges, that's a good rate.
And when I was 19 for a few months i worked for a company running a loader at a trash transfer station called sts that was owned by asche, they had the contract in Lexington, Indianapolis, Nashville and Cincinnati, and it paid good enough that the two separate presidents went to the big house for embezzlement. They ran all relatively new petes and we had almost new cat loaders. And 980 cats sure aren't cheap. The drivers were making over a grand a week and I was making just a little more, but Jesus there was some long hours. I was almost always over 40 and getting things and a half by lunch time Wednesday.
Basically, for the companies it pays, for the owner operator not so much. But isn't that the same story in every segment of trucking? -
it went up on the 5 of dec again and probably again and so on. until you have to sign a loan to go over a bridge6wheeler Thanks this.
