I was thinking about TransAm.
You are both correct. I still live in Cedar Rapids but all of the family I had in Iowa has either retired to Florida or isn't planning on staying in Iowa so I am considering relocating to Florida. I remember talking to a TransAm driver when I was otr with Schneider who lived in Florida and was able to get home. I do realize that an at fault rollover is pretty much a death sentence in trucking. Also, as I've mentioned, I had been given the suggestion of TransAm by a few people but I really didn't think they would touch someone in my shoes. However if Chinatown, our resident company expert, is also suggesting them then maybe I would have a chance. Would it be worth applying to them Chinatown? Finally I had been considering buying my own truck before the accident and would be willing to do so if I could find someone to let me lease onto provided someone would insure me. Thanks for all the help guys.91B20H8 Thanks this. -
Apply with TransAm and find out; maybe luck out. Friend of mine worked there for 2 years and loved the company. Only reason he left was his wife pressured him to get a local job.
The driver that had a rollover and went with Florida Beauty Express was hired by the company to drive a box truck within Florida picking up partial loads to consolidate in Miami for the OTR drivers. Lots of box truck jobs in Florida. Twiss Transport might consider you for that type work, but there's dozens more.
No personal income taxes in Florida.91B20H8 Thanks this. -
