    1. What is their idle policy? I am big (read fat) and I really cannot sleep in a hot truck. I can sleep very well in a cold truck with no problems. Will they let you idle in hot/warm weather to be able to sleep?

    2. Can you opt out of their per diem policy when you sign on? I will do my own taxes, thank you!

    3. What is their fuel system like? Do they let you get fuel at any truck stop or do they have a closed system? If it is closed, what truck stops do they use (T/A, Petro, Pilot, etc.)?

    Thanks for any answers.

I ran 4 years with them (and have friends driving for them still) they seem to be going down hill. Idle is an issue with every company, you can idle if its hot and of course if its cold they do have the bunk heater (runs off fuel and electric)..... I heard alot of there drivers are leaving because of miles, not enough. Good Luck

I ran for Knight for a couple of years and while i was with them their fuel network was mostly Pilot. At the time you could fuel when you wanted but
they had max gallons depending on your location. You also can opt out of the per deim i know i did. I talked to my old dispatcher the other day and he said you could idle the truck in 70+ degree weather and that there terminal idle goal was 12%. He also said that he did not know of any plans
to put APU's in their tractors. Knight use to be really good about keeping u
rollin but Knighton was right in telling u there are alot of drivers not gettin the miles they use to there. Not sure if they turned their trucks back down like alot of the other major carriers?

I'm not sure about Reno Terminal (Freight), but 4 on and 4 off, you will haul a load to Salt Lake, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and then come back to Reno terminal get out, while another driver gets in the truck to do the same thing. Its a good gig if the freight is there! Basicaly you share a truck with another driver doing the same thing you are. 4 on/4off or 7 on/7 off.. Slip seat Good Luck

    Jefferyz Thanks this.

I believe Knight along with Swift gained an account out of California hauling from the port but as far as what the others have said I do believe Knight is hurting right now and have lost some accounts. When I ran for them they said if you didnt run at least 2500 a week you would be written up and then after the 2nd or 3rd time in a row you would be terminated. Nowadays though they dont have the freight to keep the entire fleet even that busy but yet as with all of their counterparts they keep hiring drivers by the dozens

I heard from a buddy that all PLANNING is going to PHOENIX...?? If this is the case then that should solve the favor/buddy/kiss a@#/ favors they used to do. Once your empty, your in line for the next load... No easy pass from your local dispatcher. Thats just what ive heard, I'm not sure if thats being done now or in the future.. DRIVE SAFE
