If this has been fixed on the units they have there should not be any major problems. The engines had faulty components in the massive EGR system which led to the system destroying the engine and very poor fuel economy. I'm not sold on it yet. I'd have to see them, get the maintenance records, and make sure the required warranty work has been completed.

 

Well, I reached a shop guy with Conway and asked his opinion. He said with the updated EGR is was much improved but it was still in the shop MUCH more than the others and fuel economy was lower on those than other models. Oh well. I am still set on my Volvo.

 

I have a connection coming loose on the Volvo right now. My DEF fluctuates between correct and empty and the engine wants to derate. So far so good but I need to get by a shop to get secured again.

I will be leasing this one in February after bonuses are finalized. I just keep an eye out for good deals. This truck is a strong truck, gets great fuel mileage, and besides minor sensor issues once in a while; it does great. I am already cleared on the owner op side to do it; I am waiting just to have enough money in the bank to have a nice cushion sitting there after initial start up costs.
