Somehow the europeans have been using these things for 35 years and their world hasn't exploded. But there again they use COE's and half of them drive on the wrong side of the road.

I am. We still run paper logs at fedex freight. They are testing/working on putting peoplenet on our fleet starting next year I believe. Im planning to stay with for a year and then leave as o/o and buy truck older than 2000. Wanna get w900L with 3406e. I don't know if early 6nz's count as 2000 model year trucks.

eld is not that scarry if there is enough parking. but when your time ran out and there is no place to park any where it should be legal to stop in the middle of the road and take 10 and just let people go around. and brokers and shippers should be regulated by dot too for not rescadgeling appoitments if truck didn't load on time because lots of time brokers want us to run semi team load because they were lowballing drivers and didn't find a truck.

I have a 99 FLD. She's been a good truck and like any other trk. it has had things break. I just fix it or replace it.. So I will keep the Ol girl, Still Run my PAPERLOGS....

looks like there is going to be a lot of livestock haulers driving old trucks. I haul livestock and elogs just won't work for me, I'd have to turn loads away. I only do one load a day now and usually am fine for my hours as long as my loads are either all days or nights, but throw in a night load and then turn around and do a load the next morning like happens quite often and that's where I'll run into problems unless I give the load away and take the day off. Or you think you'll be fine with your schedule then it takes an extra hour to load and then you get to the packer and sit in line for two or three hours to unload and next thing you know your cushion is gone and you have to scramble to find someone to cover your next load, which is pretty tough to do as it now. I'll probably just sell my truck and go back to a factory job before Dec '17.

but when you are stuck waiting to load/unload for a while, you don't get paid if you are o/o.

4th amendment. In Orange County, CA, the sheriffs put a gps tracking device on a suspected drug dealer. They arrested him based on his tracked activities. The court ruled that it was an unwarranted search. Gps is required for eld. That is my objection.

But it would be legal if dealers were regulated by the fed, and that fed mandated gps tracking in order to do comerce as a dealer. You are not forced to drive a truck. Vut when you choose to, you are bound by the regulations there in. Its not a invasion of privicy to require certin arangments in order to do a particular activity. I dont like it, but its not illegal
