I have interstate authority and I have my base plate in Nebraska,my question is if I pick up a load and deliver it within the same state other than Nebraska like in Iowa, do I need to obtain intrastate authority in that state?

I believe there are only about 11 or so states that require intrastate authority. I don't remember Nebraska as being one of them. I would call Nebraska's IRP or motor carrier office and ask them, to be certain.

I guess my post is a little confusing,I'm OK in Nebraska but if I go into Iowa or Missouri and pick up a load there and deliver it in the same state would I be OK? our does intrastate only apply when that's all you do.

The rough answer is that you need intrastate authority to haul intrastate freight. the fines are kind of big if you get caught. Most state DMV websites have information on what is required for that state.

You could call OOIDA and speak to someone. I am sure they would be able to tell you pretty quickly whether the states in which you plan on hauling intrastate require authority.

Sounds like your referring to not being apportioned in a particular state? If thats the case you can get trip permits usually online such as https://statepatrol.nebraska.gov/permitstations.aspx or whatever state you need usually have a website.
or are you asking about additional authority/highway use tax stuff certain states such as kansas, kentucky, NY ect have?? They also can be obtained via internet
