I do not know about % or any other pay besides hourly. Paying me for every minute I was there was just too good compared to any other type. If you're on hourly now it must be some type of special hourly and you only get paid when you're moving. Or it may have been so low that no one wanted it. I got 23.50 an hour and that was back in 1998. My pay started as soon as I entered the gate and stopped when I left. Why would you want to change?

I'm no longer hauling hazmat at the moment. Was paid hourly but no overtime and really not much for hauling sulfuric acids n nasty stuff I hauled was at 19.75 after 5yrs and they treated us as a dime a dozen which is funny cause they can't find anyone to work there

Hey I get paid by the load, I'm new to hauling fuel and start out at 27%, think it would be better to get paid by the hour cause getting paid by the load you have to hustle so you don't lose money

Percentage pay is getting really popular and that's how I pay all my drivers. Drivers that are hourly will goof off and dead head just cause they want to get home. When that doesn't pay or they don't make as much as the guy that works hard and does his job it really helps productivity. To many people these days are just generally lazy and want something for nothing and I will be ###### they cost me money and aren't making me any.

I do pay my guys when they are sitting somewhere and it's my fault.

You don't have a clue, guy. It's the hazmat business. It's all about safety first. If u hire professionals you don't need to worry about guys "goofing" off. I get asked by fuel haulers all the time about what they have to do to get an interview with my company. No one I've talked to is happy about percentage pay. They are getting screwed royally. Glad I didn't go that route

Cory, Hourly Pay is the Ethical way.......Start thinking about others instead of your own pockets

I was offered a gas hauler job by KAG. When they told me how they did things and what the pay structure was I laughed out loud at them during the interview and told them no thanks and walked out. So glad I did because I have a tanker job at a solid company that pays what I want. By the hour and OT after 40. 10 paid holiday days, 2 weeks vacation and no weekends

We don't haul hazmat or fuel at all. We are in aggregate.
