How many weeks would it take to hit 40K miles anyway?. I don't want to be in a truck with anyone any longer than necessary either, but if the job I really wanted required it, what is an extra 2 or 3 weeks when you have already done 4-6.

I haven't heard about someone having to do 40k team miles to get on with a certain account. Tennant is dry van, and flatbed as far as I know. I've heard a few mixed areas, like you need to be with the company for a few months first, etc... But I'm hoping to get some straight answers Monday. I may speak with someone I know personally that's on there.
You're basically with a trainer doing OTR (Prime) for 6-8 weeks. Then they get you upgraded, and if you want to do tennant they move you there. But companies change policies, and such almost every week, its hard to have an update on the actual training weeks, etc. If you want to know about Tennant, you should speak with a guy named Scott there at Henderson. I want to take a guess and say you may hit 40k miles within a month or so.Manny M Thanks this. -
After awhile you start getting used to it. After a long 12 hour drive, you'll be falling in a deep sleep being exhausted.Redtwin Thanks this.

What he said
Make sure you have a good cell phone service provider. Lots of dead zones out there. Especially in the west.

That's right. When I inquired about Tennant 3 weeks ago, I was told I would have to go to prime first for a while, then I could get on with Tennant. When I came in to upgrade, I was given the option of prime or Tennant

I am old enough to remember when cell phones didn't exist so I think I will survive.

What made you choose Tennant, are planning to do flatbed eventually?.Manny M Thanks this.

So am I. However, I didn't bring any books with me. Was stuck all day at a shipper. I can only sleep so much

Home time and service area (Midwest and southeast) mostly. They say they do all 48, but the majority of their customers are in those areas. When I was out in LA with my trainer, I started thinking, what if needed to get home quickly ?. I would rather be 1-2days away than a week away from getting home once I go soloRedtwin Thanks this.

Not sure, but it's a way. You get trained pulling prime freight that's for sure. The company drivers I have spoken to that are on the prime side seem happy. The ones that lease, is a whole different animal
