Noone ever really explained this clearly to me. I have a slight air leak that I want to get repaired on my tractor. It is a company truck.
Should I just take it to a terminal and ask maintenance? Or should I call somebody instead? I know of on-road, but I figure that would waste a lot of time.
How to get maintenance done on truck?

I would call your DM and tell him, "Hey dude, I need to get this air leak fixed before it leaves me, and your load, on the side of the road and have to call road service!"

If you can make it to terminal take through the perqual lane. If not on road only other option and they'll either send you to terminal or a place close by to get it fixed more than likely if you're less than 50 miles from a terminal they'll send you there.

Pretty sure an "audible" air leak is an OOS, so I'd get it fixed right away. If you right it up on a company repair request, it should be taken care of. It's not something simple like a "glad hand" leaking, is it?

In most cases your company will have a number to breakdown or road repair. Call them and more than likely they will direct you to a TA or Petro to get it fixed. Just take with you your mileage, last 6 of VIN, and type of truck, engine make, when authorized to take it to one of the forementioned

If its a minor leak get to a terminal shop between loads or better when you have to do a 34 reset so you're not losing driving time and income . Be aware that some of our shops are good but most suck dog gonads .
If you're away from a shop and you need something fixed that's preventing you from continuing call Onroad . Its a good idea to know your exact location before you call .
BTW , if you have a trailer or drive tire blowout slow down, turn on your hazard lights and check your air gauges for a sudden and continues drop in pressure which would indicate air line damage . If no pressure drop continue slowly to a safe place for the road service person to work on your truck such as a very wide shoulder or a ramp . Keep a close eye out for smoke . Do not park on the shoulder for any reason other than a mechanical breakdown or a steer tire flat .G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Update:
I drove it over to the terminal and walked into maintenance and told them my problem. They are going to look at in a bit.
I also needed a 34 hour reset so it's ok. I called my dm after all of this and told him everything and he just said ok.
I agree that I should have called the dm before hand and asked what to do, but they don't seem to care too much. I actually called the night before telling them I was out of hours and needed to take a 70 tomorrow after delivery. Their response was fine whatever I'll set your pta to such and such time.
Btw. No it wasn't glad hands because when I got the tractor it was already leaking. I should have refused the truck, but I'm a dumb scrub. The leak is in the engine compartment. I can hear it but can't tell exactly.
