What DOT handbook are you referring too? I've being looking for more than 20 y ar's and never have found it, the only mention I've seen? Is in the SHIPPERS AND RECEIVERS section. Where it says "may not pack and ship a loaded firearm" which has nothing to do with a driver having a firearm in the cab of a truck
Today I saw a driver wearing a pistol....

Officers can even carry while on a plane, it's a 2 week class and done, in order for retired police to carry in every state, they must have a minimum of 10 years of service and have retired in good standing with the department, although? New York was still arresting retired officers, last I've heard, which is why I won't go to NY
P.S. Just to add, must qualify with carry weapon every year -
Why would you want to carry on a plane? Firing a gun in pressurized cabin, combined with the fact that a plane is very thin aluminum... You might as well just put the gun in your luggage, because you're an idiot if you start shooting on a plane.
-
Well? For one, I wouldn't fire a gun in a plane, in flight that is, but luggage can be lost, and I don't ever want a weapon of might lost in transit
-
Somebody's been watching too many movies. Just because a pin hole causes everybody to be sucked out and the plane to crash on the big screen doesn't mean it's going to happen in real life. It'll take something a hell of a lot more than a handgun to cause any issues.
Mudguppy Thanks this. -
Not saying anything would happen if a gun is fired on a plane, but this test isn't exactly fair! A plane in flight is traveling at an access of 200 miles an hour, while pressurized

A properly placed shot will not go through the plane. Anyway, I would rather take my luck with a small bullet hole in the plane than suicidal terrorists with box cutters............
also, you know air marshals have guns, right?Mudguppy and Pedigreed Bulldog Thank this. -
SC is shall-issue to non-residents but you must own property there. A timeshare will suffice.
Retired LEO's can carry in all states under the Law Enforcement Officers' Safety Act. -
