Mounted on DS just in front of batteries as picture shows. Full of what seems to be hydraulic oil. Air lines going to and coming from.
I asked the idiot at the Pete garage and he didn't know either.
Thanks in advance..............

I bought this truck a few weeks back. It's a PB 388 heavy haul. Came from Penn. I need to figure out if I can get rid if this component. The sight glass cracked and it's leaking.

It is an auxilary engine oil tank for add oil. Some had a push button for manual use. Others had sensors for an automatic ever fill system. It does have air pressure to it and must be released to put oil in it.
Duckman1005, 12 ga and dclerici1 Thank this. -
Its a tank for hydraulic fluid, If you look near transmission you'll see that you have a PTO.
-
Thanks for both of your replies but it does have hydraulic fluid in it so it's not engine oil.
I installed a PTO onto the transmission for a wet kit. This could possibly be for a factory installed PTO which is not present. I will have to check it out when the weather gets better.
Thanks again.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Gotta agree with BXKid, if you trace the oil lines you'll find out. There is no reason for air lines to go to a hyd tank. Take your VIN # to a dealer and they should be able to look it up and tell you.
12 ga Thanks this. -
It's awesome that the techs at the Pete dealer don't know what it is. Please save us and yourself a lot of pain. Stay Away from them.
