I didn't push anything this week. Left Monday evening to PA. Grabbed a load of water to MDI in Hickory then went on home. Didn't push for anything this week because if I wasn't home by Christmas eve the wife would kill me! 1120 miles in 2 1/2 day's so At least I'll have something that resembles a check come Thursday.

I am scheduled for orientation with cargo transporters Jan 4 and my question to the guys of the thread is what should I expect at orientation? I also have sleep apnea and I have all the documentation and printout to bring for my dot physical.

Depends on if your right out of school or have experience. Orientation is just sitting at the desk for 2 1/2 day's listening to Danny talk and watching videos. Then your road test. Anything you want to know can be found in this thread. Just read through it.

I went thru orientation in August and also have sleep apnea. With the documentation that you're compliant with cpap use, you'll be good.

Thanks Mike1155 that's good to know. Was the bunks rooms like one big room with tons of beds or was it like a hotel room.

I stayed at the Rodeway Inn. Large group and the bunk rooms were full.

Well I'm on a 7 day vacation thanks to the Drive Cam going off while I had the phone in my hand. To tell you the truth not really worried about it. I'll enjoy my 7 day's. They said I could come back next Thursday but I'm not leaving out on a Thursday. I don't fault CT. It was MY fault for picking up the phone to see who called. But I really am fed up with my payday's. I was looking at my earnings and it was less than $40,000 gross for the entire year! Some people might be alright with that but I spend too much time on the road for no more than that. I leave on Sunday most weeks and back Friday night and some times even Saturday night. My check's are just all over the place and I get 3 crappy checks and 1 good check. I've been doing this awhile and there is just no consistency. $450.00 one week, $600.00 the next, $525.00 the next, Then maybe one for $900.00. My yearly average is 1,836 miles per week. That's not much for a so called OTR driver. Honestly I don't know if I'll go back or not. I've always been one who hates changing jobs but I'm just tired of all the Micro management and low miles.

Can't blame you there, Smurf. I grossed 30k on 65k miles from the middle of June when I started. Yeah, rarely took a full two day off weekend. Reset and go for me. Currently ringing in the new year from the Peter Carmiel service plaza on the PA turnpike. A QVC load from Rocky Mount which was delayed by 15 hours caused me to be 30 minutes past the holiday early closing time at the receiver due to an error by the dispatch manager and won't take the load until Saturday. Could be worse. Thank God they had Saturday hours. My last two weeks have been putrid miles wise but will blame that on the holidays and clerical errors for people that are in holiday mode. Yeesh. Happy New Year.

    bigred81 and smurf-316 Thank this.
