It's gotten to a sad sad point when not even Swift will hire someone, either he has trashed his CDL or pissed them off so bad that they have black listed him. On the brightside OP you could always go to ####cgo and find a Russian carrier to take you. They have the same mentality you do.
Hired 4 times and quit 4 times...they won't talk to me now!

No, my roommate (a Korean) was friends with a Japanese citizen. There is a lot of bad blood historically between Korea and Japan, including a couple of attempted invasions on both sides. It would be like a Japanese/Vietnamese friendship forming after the abuses of the Japanese upon the Vietnamese peoples during World War 2. Asian cultures maintain a very long cultural memory.
Okinawa considers itself a separate, occupied nation. Best analogy would be the Native American tribes here in the U.S.Moosetek13 and joseph1135 Thank this. -
Good analogy. I've heard that myself. I've always wanted to go to Japan, from what I've seen its an extrodinary place to visit.brsims Thanks this.

Yet we are 20billion in debt. China owns us.
Swift is a top flight outfit? What a laugh -
Let'em try and collect!misterG, brsims and truckthatpassesyouby Thank this.

the question " do you spend time on fields avenue ?" made me laugh. Its a five minute walk from my house. Swift has been ok for me, but the camera thing kinda put it in perspective that its not for me. No respect from other drivers, and to be honest the equipment has been very poor. I often felt like i was repairing their trailers one at a time. Never got assigned a truck without serious issues. I would like if Chinatown had some recommendations for a job in Sacramento. you the man Chinatown!

The cameras are coming for all of the larger companies. Swift is not the first, and hardly the last.
I'm wondering what you mean by 'no respect from other drivers'.
I seldom feel disrespect from any driver, be they Swift or not.
Swift has some dodgy equipment for sure. But for the most part they keep up on it.
Sure, I'll get a trailer with a light out or something, but that has to be expected.
A few terminals inspect every trailer that comes through, and they won't release it until everything is fixed.
But face the fact that many drivers don't report problems and get them fixed, they just pass it on to the next driver. That is not the fault of Swift.
Also many drivers, myself included, try to avoid those terminals because they take up my 'valuable' time. We drivers are just as much to blame, if not more so.
My first several trucks were beaters. Lots of miles and it seemed like not much upkeep.
Then in 2012 I got my first brand new truck.
I have strived to maintain it, and it has been so reliable.
But I take the time out to get things fixed, and I don't trash it. I don't let problems slide by because I just have to stay running. And it has paid off.
This truck will be retired sometime in the next 3 months, and I really hate to lose it.
You seem like you are fairly new to Swift, and driving.
If you are a newer driver you probably get the older trucks, and they certainly have more problems.
But it won't always be that way. My first few trucks didn't have less than 450k on them, and I was in the shop much of the time. Stuff was torn up inside, and out.
Which I really don't understand that well.
I've had my truck since it was new, and it is in much better shape than those trucks of the same age and mileage that I got back then.
Yes, perspective is important.
Maybe you should not jump ship just yet, as your perspective may not have matured enough yet.MM3Deg Thanks this. -
No, we will do it the American way. File some form of bankruptcy why flipping the bird to china. People can say China owns us all they like but the honest truth is no one would try to collect. We are all just a few nukes away from not having to worry about any of it.
-
You're sadly mistaken if you believe that.
Keep drinking the kool aid driver -
My point is, no one will ever try to full out "collect" on any debt vs the world eco. All the major nations can throw a serious wrench into its gears if it was tried. It would just end in nukes flying everywhere. We created the fragile world we live in, we now have to deal we are all stuck with one and other.
