Larry and draw I totally agree but the first area I meant to address was if it is caught early a change of personal habits, shoes, self education and some home therapy is the ounce of prevention instead of a pound of cure.
Second and most importantly: If you go for medical help and are told this will knock it right out ,and it does, that did not make you supper man. After those repercussions regular medication can begin and all of that just masks the real problem if you keep doing more, or the same. That may be a sign you are at the wrong place.
Where to find advise: On the internet because everything there is true, we are here. Maybe just go to the nearest run for cancer, make a donation, and ask some of the serious runners some questions. They can tell you the best place to go in your area and you can right it off your taxes while helping someone else.
Some points: High dollar shoes were a waste of my money. Fill a 2 litter pop bottle 90% full and put it in the freezer, cap loose the first time. If your feet really hurt from PF it helps, 20 min. noon and night if you can. Sleep with your feet above your heart. Just suggestions to try. Regular exercises are a must.
Feet are like faces, few are actually the same. I am glad I was not directed to the room with the steaming stainless tank and a turkey cooker thermometer.
My feet are killing me.

Yes, a second opinion would be my first action. Blood clots can be formed for us drivers just from the position we are in all the time. Stroke, heart attacks. The symptoms you describe are definitely blood flow restictions. So that second opinion might save your life. And your never to young to die.

First, check with your doctor.
I have my seat all the way down, but I'm short ...5'4". Used to be 5'7". :0(
Low seat makes sure the edge of the seat doesn't push on my legs.
Since my feet swell during the day, I wear shoes a half size bigger, and also move my legs around. If I don't think about it, I'll not move for hours, not good.
I also try to park in the furthest corner of the parking lot, then I have to walk. Also, I like to stretch a lot. Bodies are made to move, not stay still. Trucking and sitting at a computer all day doesn't help.
Good luck.BoxCarKidd and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
You deffinately need the right shoes.for comfort and your body you need to spend a little bit rather then buy cheap.

Every driver should flex the calf mucles about every 45 minutes or so while driving down the road. Takes a few minutes and keeps the blood flowing.

Compression socks might be a good idea also if you are having swelling in the legs.
Don't know if you read this post or not, he had a problem with severe cramps;

Hello All
Leg pain numbness.
Our depot has been on a health kick with talks on drinking coffee energy drinks advice on sleeping, you know what I'm talking about.
However, the flyer said having Leg pain, Numbness and shooting pain in Leg, so yes I have been for at least the last two years of a 4-year career, and times during my career when Leg pain has started.
When I arrived in the meeting the Doctor did not have enough chairs of space for the Thirty-two drivers that turned up, I have known some off the guys for years, no mention of any pain.
The Doctor even said I bet many of you have never mentioned pain or problems with the Legs back or Neck shoulders knees & Toes.
I'm not going to explain in great detail what I learnt as it would take hours.
1 Replace your safety shoes or boots with trainers when you drive, why your Nike do not cause you pain in the gym, running/peddling/walking but your safety trainers will, they restrict your feet and our much tighter around your ankles.
2 Use the air on the seat to lift your feet of the floor (your left Leg does not move for hours am I right, the right foot is used for breaking and accelerating, so your left Leg doesn't move until it causes you pain, then we move it.
Imagine sat on a chair at home, watching tv, but moving your Leg Regularly but barely moving your left Leg for hours, the result would not be good.
If you are sat leaning forward, your neck is not supported neither is the lumbar region of your back, so bring the seat forward to Meat your back, (Ask yourself really how often you lean forward when driving.
Explanation we are create a stress position for a long period of time.
when asked in the room how many of us sit below the steering wheel leaning forward away from the back of the seat, more than 70% put their hands up including me. He said you're in this stress position for 4/5/10 hours.
The arteries in our Legs become restricted He also Suggested we but a Tens Machine, you will have seen the commercial of old people sat having their feet stimulated, why because the arteries have become restricted hence the Leg pain.
No one will teach me how to drive an articulated truck after 20 plus year but this time I listened.
I use my gym trainer's when driving, I sit what was an uncomfortable higher up, at first, I did not like it, but you know what I adjusted, along with seat up against my back.
Eight weeks I wish I had done this twenty plus years ago, having spoken to many other drivers, they are genuinely saying the same thing, it has reduced a great many of their problems.
I did buy a tense Machine; it was the circulation Maxx it cost £21 eBay, I use it 30 minutes Aday whilst watching television, I had turn it up to 90% to feel anything in the souls of my feet (I remember thinking this thing is broken, six weeks on now 65% so clearly my arteries had narrowed.
Also, the company has now invested in a gym and even given us £50 vouchers to go and but gym trainers, this is due to the sheer number of drivers in the depot who reported an improvement in the health conditions, that the depot did not even know exited to begin with.REO6205 Thanks this.
