Smurf, if you are capable and OK unloading furniture from time to time Zenith is hiring. Im not going to post exact info here but I don't think I've grossed less than $1,000 any week this year except the week my son was born in June, that includes other long weekends to get married, honey moon, christmas, new years, etc. Most weeks my gross is closer to 1,500. Our freight has slightly slowed down, nothing remotely close to what you guys are describing about CT though. Unloading isn't rough, most stops its just breaking it down while people come in the trailer, if you got a particularly heavy piece ask them to do it. Some stops can be more labor intensive, were also gradually moving to do a more Terminal to Terminal style job and it isn't uncommon to have a week or two without having to touch a single piece. Top pay is .44 for ALL miles (I think starting is .41) You write down your mileage when you leave and when you get back, if you circle a truck stop for 4 hours you get paid for those miles. $13 per stop, $20 unloading, $10 per pick up, $30 for a back haul (25 pieces or more at one pick up, or a back haul booked through a broker), $2.50 drop and hook pay. My home time is comparable or better than what you described as well.
Ill end the thread high jack there.smurf-316 and HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thank this. -
I truly hope no one else has to deal with TRIPAC in Downington PA. Had a load out of QVC Rocky Mount NC going there dropping on New Years eve at 9am, but due to QVC's mistake, I could not get it there before 3pm. TRIPAC normally closes at 330pm, but was observing a 230pm that week (which nobody knew about). I was not unloaded and since they were closed New Years Day, I would have to return on Saturday, so babysat 40 hours at a service plaza. Got there at 8am, promptly gave me a door and sat for three hours before they dropped the dockplate. By 230pm, all the workers scurried out of there no one bothered to tell me they were finished to get the BOL. I had to pull away from the dock to see that they were done, but no BOL. LOST 60 total hours (15 on QVC end, 45 on TRIPACs end on this 400 mile load and lost my 2500 mile round trip to Texas preplan because of being detained 7 hours there. Just another reason to hate the holidays!! BEWARE OF TRIPAC!! Wish I had dumped my pee bottles in their parking lot. Hmmmmm.

Sorry, George! Seems you are having a rough go lately. Hopefully it'll get smoother in the coming weeks now that the holidays are over.

Oh #### dude... I can't imagine... Wow!!!
I start to go stir crazy after a few hours of sitting waiting or babysitting... Hope this means you have gotten it all out of your system in one sitting and the rest of 2016 is all drop n hook loads...
Stay Safe,

That kinda crap happens to me all the time. I lost a load to Minnesota a few weeks ago because of a 5 hour wait to get unloaded. -
Let me say that I don't want to discourage anybody from going to CT. Many people there get great miles every week and make some nice money. I know a few drivers who get pretty close to 3000 miles per week and sometimes more. But I will say just because YOU get the miles doesn't mean everybody else is. Many drivers struggle to get 2000 per week. It seems to be mostly about the dispatcher you have. I have a friend who also drives for us and he always around 2700. I'm not that lucky. As many other drivers are not getting those kinds of miles either. So that's why I'm strongly considering leaving. However if your lucky enough to get a good dispatcher, can put up with a camera spying on your every move and deal with all the Micromanagement then CT might be the place for you. 2000 miles is not much for OTR. If it was only once in awhile it wouldn't be so bad but 3 crap checks out of 4 is too often. Thank God my wife has a good job or I'd loose most everything I have.
gntorres61 and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Well I'm suppose to start orientation there on the 25th but I might have to reconsider. CT has been where I have wanted to go since I started school because of the hometime and couldn't find much bad about them but $40k just isn't enough.

I think it makes no sense to be over the road if you are not getting any good miles. Some companies pay less but have alot of miles so it does compensate for other companies that pay more but dont have the miles.
