Wagner locally ran a fleet with one of each manufacturer that had a dealership in town, all with CAT power, of course. They still have some of the Pete's and Kenworth's, as well as a couple CAT trucks. I figured they were trying to keep the dealerships happy to keep business doing overhauls, as only a couple of the dealers in town have big enough shops to be continually handling more than a couple overhauls.

Not to mention, Wagner has a better reputation in town for CAT overhauls than the dealers, even though a couple of the dealers are CAT-certified to offer warrantied platinum and similar overhauls.

And if you're Cummins, you go to Marini, they have a better reputation than Cummins' own shop here.

That scraper looks like it'd be miserable to load.

First time I went to go get a mixer all by myself, I lifted the rear tires almost 2' in the air with the mixing teeth on brand new concrete! Luckily nobody seen me.

    I've never hauled a scraper.

My old company had 2 cats truck, I drove one for a while, it was automatic but the other one was an 18 speed and was in the shop 21 times in the first 18 months till they decided to not make the payments so they would repo it cuz they couldn't make money with it in the shop more than it was on the road. Everyone I've ever talked to has said they hated the cat truck they were in.

FYI: a little trivia info. Holt brothers are the ORIGINAL developers of the "Caterpillar" crawler tractor design I've seen pic's of old tractors with "Holt" on the radiator surround rather that "Cat".
I used to come up against "Holt Bros Export" on oversea bids. Client noted they were a "small business"...!!!! Me dyin' arse.!!

When the machines are in good condition .
Equal linear torque to each side , good alignment , pins and bushes not worn and wheels all same pressure it can be real simple sometimes.
Now when you get a machine that has issues it can fight you every inch.
