ok have all the info on pay as far as orientation, and CPM once solo plus all the extra stuff, but what is the pay while with a trainer? can not seem to find it anywhere. just getting the numbers worked out as they are at the top of my list and unless something crazy happens between now and when get an orientation date should be good to go so working on the basic numbers. thanks for the help. Plus any advice from others that drive for Melton.

$75 a day. Saw it on another post.
me.myself&kelly.transport Thanks this. -
If you have specific questions ask. If you are interested in Melton, they are a great company to work for.
My advise is: don't worry about the training pay, worry more about the training. Flatbedding isn't easy work and isn't for everyone.me.myself&kelly.transport Thanks this. -
it not something that will change my mind just like to know as it all about a little planning, did 10 years flatbed while serving in the air force as it the only way we transported anything, from tires to whole aircraft. then did some reefer hauling with cr england back in 2004 and would prefer flat, more control over the load. they are the top company on my list have already talked with them just have to get thru the refresher training since it been 11 years now that was last behind the wheel, keep my class a as knew would get back to it once my kids were grown and out of the house. but will be filling out complete app after get a better date when school will be over. thanks for aal the advice

is there anything can do to prepare for the training, like stuff to read or videos can watch i am ready to take in all that i can learn as things have changed over the year but the basic are the basics. What to expect in training? is the physical any different the regular dot?
-
Physical is just standard DOT, nothing special. The only thing slightly different is the tarp lift. Picking up a tarp (about 90 lbs) from ground to top of trailer.
They go over everything you need in orientation, just go in prepared to learn. It is a lot to take in, in such a short time. If your school teaches the smith system spend some time after school to soak that in. We are big on that here. If your school doesn't teach maybe find some info and familiarize yourself with it. -
can handle them tarps and yes school does teach the smith system already got the book on it and been reading it and practicing in the car when i drive.
