My mechanic really likes DD15, he said it would be his second choice after pre egr engines

 

It's a DD15
And yes if I had to pick from any of the new engines it would be that one .

 

With the DT12 auto, geared for the work you are expecting to do.

 

When I was driving company truck we had 10 new detroits DD15 all were 2014 and 2015 trucks very very little issues.

 

I've had some SCR issues in the very cold weather with my DD15, but seemed to have eliminated them by replacing a bad air dryer. Otherwise my DD15 has been bulletproof. No issues at all. Can't say that for our Cummins.
What I'm reading here is the same as all my mechanic friends keep telling me.....of all the new SCR engines, Detroit is the way to go?

 

Cascadia glider and new Cascadia truck will be the same except engines and reman tranny or rears vs new. It should be much better than 2008 prostar. Also you get 300k factory warranty for the engine and if it breaks later on, the pre egr engines are very cheap to repair and any shop can work on it if it breaks on the road.

 

Hello I don't know much about the new detroit engines with the emissions but i have only heard good things. We got a new 2016 pete with a 550 cummins and we are not the least bit impressed with the engine. The power seems very numb and we are always getting error messages on the dash for the emissions on it. If we were to buy another new truck we were considering a western star just so we can get a detroit engine.
