I would personally opt for the solo job because teaming is simply NOT my cup of tea. In my mind it defeats the entire purpose of doing this job.

    Big Don Thanks this.

I agree. I mention it primarily because the OP is a recent CDL school graduate who could benefit from teaming with a more experienced hand for a while to learn the ropes.

I kinda agree with this, but for a different reason. If you go to OD first, you'll have no idea how much better it is versus a low-paying starter sleeper gig. Kinda like giving a 16-year-old kid a Ferrari when he gets his license. If he is forced to drive a Geo Metro from the 90s for a year, he'll have way more appreciation for a sweet ride.

But seriously: jump on the opportunity. OD is growing like crazy right now, which is the only reason they're hiring rookies these days. Not too long ago you would've needed at least 3 - 5 years experience to get a decent LTL gig. Jump on it while you can. They often allow transfers to other terminals, so you could start in Indy and move back later.

    Thanks for everyone's responses..

I'm definitely going to put all my chips on OD... This has been a company that I've been researching for months now and it's honestly the only company I want to work for (and one day retire from)

Both of these guys have valid points here. You don't want to get to the company you think you want to stay for your career with, and then screw up and get fired. OTOH, you can screw up ANYWHERE and get fired and have it reflect badly enough that OD wouldn't consider you.
I can't suggest what you should do, other than to be v e r y careful wherever you do end up.

    Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

They have sleepers for their long haul runs; usually teams to west coast.

Yes, go with OD in Indiana then request a transfer to Virginia later if you want.
