I lived in Indian River my whole life until just a few months ago. Lots of flatbed up there.

Schneider has a small yard in Cadillac. I think they want company drivers out 3 weeks from there though.
I worked for a guy in Gaylord, Eagle Enterprise, PITA to work for, but you can call it OTR experience.
Campbell out east of Gaylord, they might be looking.
East Jordan Plastics used to hire an OTR driver once in awhile.
Wojan Window and Door in Charlevoix as well.
GoTo In Bay City has all the Home Depot store deliveries up there, might get you home with a truck even.
You have tried the LTL companies?

There are plenty of places you can commute to for a week or two OTR then commute home, Grand Rapids or Lansing or Saginaw for instance. If you ever change your mind about flatbed there is quite a list of those up there.
    Good luck.

    Dan

I guess I should clarify. Gaylord is only temporary, we ARE moving further south, most likely to Mount Pleasant.

What endorsements do/will you have? Get your hazmat if possible...

We are in Reese, east of Saginaw a bit. We have flatbed, van, gravel train, and pressurized hazmat tankers (propane, butane, anhydrous ammonia). Van, tanker, and I think flatbed leave Sunday/Monday and are generally home Friday. Some weekend work, but not the norm, and only when we're really busy. Gravel trains slip-seat, 12 hour shifts, from our Reese or Port Huron yards.

PM me pertinent info, I'll get with our safety department to see if it's worth your time to apply.

*I hauled, and now dispatch, tankers. I can give you more info on that than on anything else we have. There is a shop in Clare where you can park your truck on weekends - about 15 minutes from Mt. Pleasant.

    Toona67 and 91B20H8 Thank this.
