DD60 EGR,ISX15(any model),CAT ACERT <--- much less problematic . I had few DD60 EGR and if no stupid cali laws I would buy them again. Also epa04 isx 15 was not bad. isx cm2350 looks like has all prior problem fixed. these engines are not ART like Europeans these are work horses.

That's the biggest thing I've noted with the Euro stuff. They try and engineer everything to the point it just isn't practical. I used to work on a lot of European construction equipment imported here and they don't have nothing on US and Japanese built gear. Actually I think the Japs build some of the better and easier to fix equipment on today's market.

You seem to be surprised where all those components were made. All those countries are part of the EU, one economic area. No import/export duties, no borders, an integrated V.A.T. tax system, one currency for many countries and so on. It doesn't matter where those components are made.

I made the remark about DAF trucks, because DAF designed the MX engines. Look at the Kenworth K270 and K370, as well as the Peterbilt 220, they have (at least) DAF engines and cabs. As far as I'm aware people like these trucks for their maneuverability. A US trucker once wrote in this thread that he would love to use a European style semi for delivering goods in cities etc. At least for that kind of use a DAF tractor would do much better then a NA style tractor.

for local deliveries I would use class 7 Hino. it's better truck than any euro engineered hemorrhoid . Hino is fuel efficient, has less computers, easy fixable and has high build quality.

They are not fuel efficient but for local I suppose not a big issue. I find the Nissan better than Hino.

I suppose that is the reason why the Sprinter is doing so well in the US, and the Ford Transit, and Chrysler vans? All European design. GM doesn't have it's own vans in Europe, it's selling Renault vans under it's own brand names.

    Let me disagree about DAF

Small DAF engines are really Cummins with Paccar logo.

Paccar makes 9 L UPEC, 12.6 L UPEC and Paccar MX engines only.

Small urban KW cabovers are really DAF LF/CF trucks with KW ore Pete logo. They share engines with EU models, and yes, engines made by cummins with bosch common rail injection and may be with Bosch ECM.

Steel cabin is successor of previouse cab developed by unito of European companies and used on Iveco, DAF, Magirus, Renault and Mack.
