If you just recently got your CDL, you should be okay. If you have any experience, screwing up badly on any backing maneuvers they have you do would raise a red flag. Someone with experience doesn't need to be perfect, but ought to be able to make good corrections. Whereas they realize rookies often don't back very well in the real world yet.

Some/most companies send you home for failing a road test.
Are you going to orientation with a company that offers refresher courses? If so,you will be ok and they may keep you around for refresher and hit the road with a trainer.
Do you have any Class-A CDL schooling? -
Are they the kind of company that hires and trains rookie CDL holders? If they know that your experience is limited, they should be okay with training you. If it's not that type of company, you might get sent home. You will probably need some backing practice before they cut you loose solo. Unless you're just a natural at it.

Which company are you going with; maybe some drivers that work there can tell you what to expect.
Is it TMC? -
When I trained a Schneider the initial road test was simply to measure your abilities, very few would have been accepted if we stopped there.
There was a lot of training left to do.Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
It really depends on the company..
Honestly though, you should know how to drive and back already before you get to orientation as you have a Class A cdl ..Orientation and training is more to show you how the company does things and to get slave labor out of you -

I'm looking at tmc Melton or swift I can get the straight line and parallel fine but have some trouble 18th the offset at times -
Yeah I know the practice doesn't bother me but I was wondering if I would get the practice with a mentor on his truck or have to do it at the terminal until I get better them send me out with a trainer
