Ok... Two of us started down Cabbage but only one made it... Bills truck had a breakdown about a mile from the bottom. Ugh... That was an interesting ride this morning.

We were going to take Cabbage at first light... Rolled out of TS about a couple hours before dawn... Was not the best roads getting there so we opted to park atop cabbage and wait for better light... (If I drive off a mountain, I wanna see the whole thing)... Once it was beginning to get light we took our chances only to have both of us slipping and sliding after we got back on I84.... So, ten minutes down the road we opted to take a tour of the local weigh stations parking lot... Whew... I am getting some good experience feeling the truck slip and slide without anything serious happening.

Waited a bit... Then waited some more... Then a liquid "salt" truck passed the weigh station so we decided it was time...

Everything was going SLOW AND SAFE until a mile from the base when the breakdown happened. So we got off the road, got the area safe, made a few calls, then I went on to my drop.

It's been quite the learning opportunity. :)

So day one of school is in the books, let's just say I'm glad I have previous experience. Some of the log book stuff is veggly familiar. And to be honest given the caliber of the first instructor I had today, I could have taught the classroom portion. Be safe all!

    MidWest_MacDaddy and JohnBoy Thank this.

Oh I totally agree... Not bragging about being able to make it slip n slide... Just that I had a taste of it, luckily without a bigger problem to follow, so it was an interesting, and puckering, education this week... I hope not to feel that again anytime soon.

As always, thank you for your insight.

So from Portland, OR to Aberdeen, WA... Loaded up 18 hours early, parked at a mall, watched "Star Wars" at the theater, and calling it a day... Heading towards Vegas come morning.

    Stay Safe,
