No idea on the percentage of out and back, but a fellow out of my terminal in Ft. worth (Coporate owned terminal) said all he has done so far is out and back. I agree with him, it's nice - but I'd rather have another load once and awhile. The tank wash may be time consuming, but a reload from the the same area will be worth it. He has only been with QC for a couple weeks, so we have to keep that in mind also. QC pays for the tank wash.

Ya know.. I was thinking the same thing today. In my first day of training I was told the hoses are pretty much ours and you keep them on the trailer. But it got me thinking about a hose rack for my truck instead. What if I don't even use the hoses for a week or so, and have to keep swapping trailers? That will get me a hose rack quick. Lol.
My truck has a fitting box mounted in the frame in front of the fifth wheel. And extra boxes under the stairs to the cab.
Not sure about the in transit heat, no one has mentioned that yet.

Some loads the wash comes off the top. It again depends on the customer . So on those loads you really pay 60% of it (or whatever the rate is these days).

I would absolutely have a hose rack installed and chain and padlock the hoses to it

    Rix43 Thanks this.

This is a draw back, because no matter how you log the waiting - it is still ticking away the 14 hour. Hopefully I can plan most of them to where I get my 10 hour break, or just go ahead and make it a new 10 hour.

They must have changed things now, because I was told we have an account at all the washes we use - and we do not get charged for them. We get 62%, fuel stabilization (LOL), and detention if any.

Forgive my ignorance, but, if the trailer is theirs, shouldn't the company pay the tank wash?????

Some say the tank wash is built into the rate
