Options get a lot better after your first year. Things change daily as well as pay structures. If you find one better than prime. Plz share it.
-
Just be careful of the split mile pay scam with team companies. Crst is bad with this crap. They tell you you will make 22 cents a mile and it's actually 11.
-
Yea, I know about that. The .22 is for the truck. The drivers split. That's why I'm not interested in teaming. Also don't want to live that close with someone that isn't my wife
SHOJim Thanks this. -
I'm glad to hear the trainers are there to at least talk to.
Yeah, I think Prime does pay a bit more, but Schneider has 2 places really close to me that I can run out of, plus (flamethrowers off please) I like their Choice program better than the Lease program Prime offers. I would not consider anything like that until I have a year under my belt (and I see who the next president is) but I am single, no kids, and a self starter and I think I could do quite well in a Rental Truck. (flamethrowers on)bomoto Thanks this. -
For a moment there I thought I was still in the thread where the guy said he was convicted of Robbery. But you are only talking about CRST.

Western Express has flatbed and also their own cdl school in Nashville,TN
They provide hotel room and 3 meals a day. If I'm not mistaken their lodging for students is a former Ramada Inn they bought and converted to student lodging. I think it' by or near the Pilot Truck Stop at Trinity Lane and I-65 in Nashville.hharleywood Thanks this. -
Thank you, ill look into that

Lets see, go to Prime....make $600-$700 a week for your first year while you work off your contract. So that is about $33,800 in your first year.
Go to school on your own, spend about $4000 to $5000 to get your training, be a free agent when you walk out the door, go to work for companies like TMC or YRC and make $55,000 to $60,000 your first year.
So going to Prime really costs you about $25,000 in your first year.
Lets not forget about home time and quality of the work environment.
Its simple math....contract training SUCKS!!!Vitkouski, TequilaSunrise and hharleywood Thank this.
