best one I had; Was too leave a note, (which we are supposed to take), and the homeowner left it taped on the inside of a locked door.

I've only called ahead to the customers never heard of. Normally it's a residential or a ma and pa operation that is not Big Truck friendly.. The call ahead for normal operations was a joke, rarely did that crap.Although few times did save my butt from waiting ( Closed for this time frame due to holiday party or having our lanes of travel resurfaced )

Not doing LTL now, The Call ahead is a mixed bag of WTF( yeah i know how to navigate down your main street of town ) or Thank you for the heads up ( talk to this person or ill meet you at this area to drop the dumpster etc )

Can I get a tractor trailer in there???

"Oh sure. We get trucks and trailers in here all the time".

(After arriving and finding location to be very inaccessible...)

"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you meant a pickup truck with a U-haul trailer".

    Spot the Eff on !
Confident in my abilities. But holy heck, Not a miracle worker, Get this monthly...
"With all due respect, I'm not a tractor trailer. I need this amount of feet to drop this dumpster and to pick up a loaded one is little bit more precise. I can't do a 90 degree dock job like UPS freight does, Sorry I'm not screwing myself for the pickup, need to request a tandem truck and a smaller dumpster.

"Oh we get dumpsters all the time" yeah, I'm the stupid driver that takes 45 minutes wiggling out a box from these prior decisions...
"Oh he gets the box out just fine" No he doesn't i want to say, I called them, There is no easy way, This account sucks better you then me !!!! lol

BTDT many a time. Usually didn't mind it, as long as I didn't have to change the propane tank on their fork lift. . .

I had one to a residence in a mucky-muck rural area, about 70 miles from the dock. This "gentleman rancher," had a gate way with an overhead cross piece and "rancho whatever" engraved on it, that was maybe nine feet off the ground. House was a quarter mile or so inside the fence line. Woman home alone, nobody there to help unload, but then nothing to unload it into anyway, since Mr. Rancher had their pickup truck and was off somewhere. Oh yeah, this was a SCHEDULED delivery. . .
I'd kind of like to know what their "re-delivery" charge was on this one.
