I am on Sprint and have unlimited Data. Can't use my phone as a hotspot without paying more but Im sure there are ways around it if I wanted to root the device and install a custom ROM. That's not really an option due to using my phone (note 4) for business related things and electronic logging.

You don't need a custom rom. Root is all you need. There are hotspot apps to download that require root.

At least there were. I'm using the note2 with stock rom and root. Sprint may have removed the apps. I haven't looked.

I was wanting to get teh S6. But looks like there's some settings to change besides needing root. Sprint now offers hotspot with unlimited data. But it's throttled after 3 gigs. And i'm not feeling like doing the work involved. Might hold out for the S7 to come out and see what happens.

I do have a LG3 Vigor that is my back up phone. I should root it and see if I could make it work on the second line I have but don't use.

Verizon grandfathered unlimited data plan for $130 per month, with samsung S5, PDAnet= unlimited talk, text, pics, data, wifi hot spot anywhere you have a phone signal. You can buy these accounts from current account holders. They are for sale all over.

Buy then from current account holders? Really?

    How does one do that?

Do you add another number to your account or move the features to your current number.

I've always wondered about buying accounts and phones and what not, from other people or ebay.

I bought mine from someone off of ebay and put my number onto it. When I went out on the road. The grandfathered unlimited data accounts from verizon have the ability to be able to transfer the "assumption of liability" of that account. Now that I no longer am going away from home I am going to resell mine and go back to strait talk. If you dont need over 5 gigs of data a month strait talk cant be beat.

Any idea what they sell for? I was looking at T-Mobile for their unlimited plan and would be fine with their smaller footprint compared to Verizon but open to options too... Verizon would be more per month at $130/mo but better coverage... Not sure it's worth the extra money or not.

You can buy phones fairly cheap now and go month to month.
